Hi, I’m Lisa!

About Me

I’m not a fashion industry veteran hoping to reform the space.
I’m not the kid who styled Barbies in Oscar-ready looks.
I’m not the friend who looks amazing no matter what, no matter where.
I’m just someone who has always cared about the natural world & thoughtful ways to move through it.

As a kid, I put bricks in our toilet tanks to save water. And, wondered how many flushes really mattered?
I started a recycling subscription business with my red-flyer wagon. And, sold out fast after three hot-smelly-weeks.
Now, I'm using fashion as a playground for those same instincts, questions, and realities.

In the process, I’m learning:

  • How we form emotional attachments to our clothes

  • How secondhand shopping can be fun and sustainable

  • How personal style can evolve without overconsumption

  • How the way we dress is tied to who we are, what we hope for, and how we show up in the world

Capen’s Closet is my field journal for that exploration.

Through writing, secondhand selling, closet cleanouts, and community, I’m figuring it out in real time — and inviting you to come along. Welcome!
